Measure finished width
Measure left to right where the shower pan will sit. Check the back, middle, and front of the opening if the walls may be out of square, then note the smallest usable finished width.
Custom shower pan measuring guide
Use this guide before choosing a shower pan collection or sending details for review. The right measurements help LuxaBath confirm finished pan size, drain placement, curb layout, flange sides, and freight details before production.
Measure the finished opening
A custom Corian shower pan is reviewed from finished dimensions, not a rough guess. Measure the actual space the pan will occupy after framing, wall board, waterproofing, and wall panel plans are understood.
If the project is already drawn, send the plan. If you are measuring in the room, write down each number in inches and take photos of the opening, drain, walls, and entry side before starting the builder.
Core numbers
Width, depth, drain from back wall, and drain from side wall are the numbers that drive the pan layout. Curb and flange selections tell the shop which edges meet walls and which edge is the entry.
Step by step
Measure left to right where the shower pan will sit. Check the back, middle, and front of the opening if the walls may be out of square, then note the smallest usable finished width.
Measure from the back wall to the front edge of the pan, curb line, or entry side. Note whether the front edge is a curb, a low entry, or an open side.
Measure to the center of the drain from the back wall. Then measure to the drain center from the left or right wall and record which wall you used.
Identify which sides are against walls, which side is the entry, and where curbs or flanges are needed. This helps LuxaBath review how the pan connects to walls or shower panels.
Write down out-of-square walls, unusual framing, benches, low curb needs, nearby glass, existing plumbing constraints, and whether the project is remodel or new construction.
Photos and drawings make review easier. Include the full shower opening, drain location, entry side, wall corners, and any existing conditions that affect fabrication.
Before you build
Bring this list into the shower pan builder for a smoother estimate and cleaner review.
Good measuring habits
Ready to configure
Choose a Corian collection and enter the finished size and drain placement for a working estimate, or send plans, photos, or notes when the project needs deeper review. LuxaBath confirms the details before production.
Questions
Use the finished shower pan size whenever possible. If only rough framing is available, note that clearly so LuxaBath can review wall material, panel thickness, and final fit before production.
Measure to the center of the drain from the back wall, then measure to the center of the drain from one side wall. Label whether the side measurement comes from the left wall or right wall.
Measure the opening in more than one place and note the smallest usable dimension. Add photos or drawings so LuxaBath can review the condition before production.
Yes. The builder asks which sides need curb, entry, flange, or wall conditions because those details affect how the custom shower pan is fabricated and installed.
Yes. If the project has drawings, photos, unusual conditions, or multiple custom pieces, send plans, photos, or notes through the contact page and LuxaBath can review the project before production.
